Forgive me Father... Thorn Birds star Richard Chamberlain wears some truly sinful clothes
(August 2010)

He was the priest who made young women around the world swoon when he donned his long vestments and seduced Rachel Ward in the mini-series The Thorn Birds.

Adapted from Colleen McCullough's 1977 novel set on a fictional outback sheep station in Australia, the illicit romance between Father Ralph de Bricassart and Meggie Cleary was a smash hit.

But that television series was back in 1983. In 2010, Richard Chamberlain has forsaken his comely cassock for tie-dyed terror.

Raising the roof: Richard shows he's still got the moves, even at 76 years of age

The 76-year-old actor was on the set of the film We Are the Hartmans at the Bowery Poetry Club in New York. He was dressed in a psychedelic ensemble that included a bright red bandanna and a string of beads... but definitely not Rosary beads.

The movie is about Hartman's Bar, the last local hangout in a suburban town surrounded by large department stores and fast food chains.

When the owner of Hartman’s falls ill, his estranged family comes to town to sell the club and collect the money.

What they don’t expect is a full-scale neighbourhood protest by the eccentric musicians, drunks and drag queens that frequent the club.

The movie is scheduled to be released sometime in 2011.
