Comments: | I'd just like to say that I think Richard Chamberlain is a wonderfully talented man in so many areas. He can turn his hand to any acting role as well as theatre, musicals, singing and painting. I am probably one of Richard's more younger fans but I can appreciate talent and good looks when I see them. My favourite movie with Richard would have to be 'The Thorn Birds'. I can watch that movie over and over without getting sick of it. I would have loved to have been in place of Rachel Ward (especially during those passionate love scenes)!! Anyway I'm looking forward to getting hold of Richard's new book 'Shattered Love' in Australia. I wish Richard and Martin all the very best for the future. May you always be happy, healthy and successful. I don't care about Richard's sexuality (that is strictly his business. I'm just glad that he has brought it all in the open so that he can finally find inner peace and contentment in his life. It doesn't change my opinion of Richard at all - I still think he is very talented and handsome man. Keep up the good work. I would dearly love to correspond with any other fans of Richard both in Australia and overseas who are interested. Lots of love & best wishes Maria Girgenti |

Comments: | Darren... What a wonderful job you've done on behalf of Mr. Chamberlain. I awake to a poster of "Lady Caroline Lamb" every morning, and if anyone out there hasn't heard the gorgeous musical score from that film, try to track it down -- it was composed by Richard Rodney Bennett, and it is stunning. I have long-term AIDS, and I now have a longing to visit Hawaii after reading of the brilliant landscapes in Mr. Chamberlain's book. I studied for a brief while with Steve Sondheim, so it pleases me to think that "Nohea" and I have similar tastes in musicals. All my best to you... |

I had the great fortune of seeing Richard in "My Fair Lady" on stage as a birthday present from my fiance. It was a great night!! A wonderful birthday present I will never forget. |

Comments: | Thank you for your past performances. I hope that you do more work. I still watch Shogun, and others with fond memories of just what I was doing at the time it first came out. I refuse to watch the upcoming program on Larry King, however. Revalations do absolutely nothing for me, and I also refuse to purchase your book if that is the basis for your writing it. A person's private life should remain private so long as he or she lives. You were born on 3/31/35, and I was born on 11/27/33 so we are close to the same age. I have never divulged my gut feelings to anyone. I have been married for thirty-nine years, have two children and nine grandchildren, and still feel that my innermost feelings and thoughts are private. Selling these feelings would be similar to selling myself and I will own me until I die. I do wish you all of the happiness in the world, and, again, thank you for the countless hours of entertainment you have brought into my life. You must be a fun person, and, a very nice one. Most sincerely, Clif West |

Comments: | I thought it was great when I was able to speak with Richard Chamberlain when he was on the Steve Cochran Show in Chicago in June. After speaking with him, I was determined to go to Stockbridge to see "The Stillborn Lover." Mr. Chamberlain and the rest of the cast were wonderful, as was the play. I couldn't believe it when he walked out on stage. After his performance, I had an opportunity to speak with him,and take pictures. He also autographed a poster (from his Island Son TV show, and a comic book from Dr. Kildare). He is so personable, and VERY HANDSOME. What a wonderful way to spend my 50th birthday-a DREAM COME TRUE!!!!! |

Comments: | Why is everone condeming Richard on other websites? Yeah, I did roam a bit and am not happy with the negative comments about him. Are we surprised by his declaration of his preference for men? No, but do his fans care? No! We are more interested in his acting abilities, his thoughts on life and his spiritual leanings. Why do people bother with the websites for RC if all they have to say is mean, cruel words? Go to the websites YOU PREFER - and leave the fans alone. God knows we would not even begin to know the sites you "critics" frequent to constantly dish out your negativity-thank God! |

Comments: | It surely was a dream come true to have front row seats to see Richard Chamberlain in "The Stillborn Lover" in Stockbridge MA. Since it was a serious play, Richard's dazzling smile was not prevalent in accordance with his role, however, no other actor performs a tortured, tormented soul as well as Richard Chamberlain! And the few times his character did smile, it was simply sinful! Any idea where the play will be opening after Stockbridge, MA??? |

Comments: | Wow!What a great and ``rich``site you've got!I can easily appreciate the enormous work you've got to do since 1998 to keep it updated...And I'm awared and understand perfectly that it cost you a great deal of $ to be able to keep your site online...It's a treasure for someone like me who wants photos of Richard Chamberlain, all kind of infos about him...in your site, there's so much to view and enjoy:filmo.,interviews,etc. I love Richard so much, since I saw him in Dr.Kildare and I still do,30th years later.I have an album of him, singing beautiful love songs with his tender voice, but that's all, only one disc because,in Quebec(I'm a french Canadian),there's lots of negligence to``ask``for anything new like those kind of things .Now,it's too late,if only I would have the chance to obtain ``ALL``the albums Richard made, but it's impossible, unfortunately for me!Anyway, Thanks to you,I've got the opportunity and the immense pivilege to ``pay a visit``to Richard,as long as your site will ``exist``.Thanks again Darren for all the trouble that you give to yourself for keeping your site alive. Thousands of BRAVOS and, don't give up, continue your great work. I'd like to give some $ to help you, please take a look ,I'm gonna ask you, at your email, how to proceed in my case.Canadian $ is not very high compare to US $...Well,bye now Darren and good luck,in everything you'll planning in the future.I wish you the best in life.``Live long and prosper``! Comments: | Time For An Awakening By Kazz Falcon. a poetic art dedicated to Richard Chamberlain. You probably know me quite well. I starred in numerous blockbuster movies in the 1960/70's. Of course, I was in a hit TV show in the 1980's. I had a pretty fan base. All women fancy yours truly. In the last few years, I led a comfortable life. I could less about my public image now. Most women saw me as a romantic man in my movies. I played the roles quite good. Even some proposed marriage in their letters. Stars still get those kind of letters. I wouldn't take those proposals seriously. I was already seeing someone at that time. I wouldn't dare to cheat at all. My special someone would have talk to the tabloids. You know I can't let that happen. My public image would be destroyed. Today, I don't give a damn about that image. Hollywood created it for the audience. They saw a bankable star in me. They would do anything to cover up the truth. They did the same thing with Rock Hudson. He was another prefect leading man for the movies. For all my fans, I was ready to face the truth. I was tired of hiding from everyone. There was nothing wrong with me. I just happened…happened to be different. "Different," you wondered. I wasn't ashamed of my life. It was a part of me. I embraced myself with the truth. The truth would set you free. As you get older, you would know what means the most to you. I found real love I could count on for the rest of my life. I would never give up the love at all. Being gay was so me; I don't want to give up my life. |

Comments: | Dear Richard - I was fortunate enough to be at the Mosswood retreat with David Spangler and you. At that time you were definitely filled with tremendous inner conflict. I'm so glad now to see the peace at last in your eyes. You are a wonderful human being that has brought so much happiness to so many people, I'm glad that now you can feel the love coming back to you from all of us, your truly devoted fans. I was fortunate enough to be given a silent blessing from you at the end of the workshop. I will cherish those 2 days forever. My heart still does flip flops when I see you, it always will. You are such a wonderful human being and so talented, it's a shame you spent so much of your life not knowing and feeling that love from everyone. Take care and I hope Martin knows how lucky he is. Hope you do come to Denver to do a book signing would love to see you again. |

Comments: | I have been a fan of Richard Chamberlain for such a long time, and was very sad to hear that he is gay, there are many people that do not marry or if they do it might be later in their life, There was no reason for Richard to come out and state his feelings about being gay, I don't know how others feel, for me it was not neccessary especially at the age of 68, he has been the romantic person all these years, he should have left it that way. I still think he is a very good actor. |

Comments: | Ladies and Gentlemen. I don't know if this is true or not (interview 26). It does not change the admiration that I have for Mr. Chamberlain on way or another, but when I saw Shogun back in the 80's I did not see much chemistry between Mr. Chamberlain and Mariko (the Japanese Princes) I thought that Oriental women were not his cup of tea. In show gun the first time Mariko approached Chamberlain and he refuse her she said "Perhaps you prefer a boy" and for some strange reason that line have stayed in my mind until today. Ladies and Gentlemen all sex aside I will like to know how Mr. Chamberlain find it working with Toshiro Mifune. Regards David S. A.K.A. Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence 2003 |

It is only a bit sad that he was unable, before now, to publicly enjoy and celebrate the greatest of all God's gifts, mutual unconditional love. Many more years of peace and happiness to both Richard and Martin. |

I have been a fan from as far back as your days of Dr Kildare, throughout your mini-series, and on to Broadway with My Fair Lady (which I enjoyed thoroughly!!). I have just seen your interview on Nightline, and I must say that I am both thrilled and happy for you to be able to finally be your true self. It took me many years as well, but now that the initial "shock" of it all has long gone away, I must say that I am a happier man indeed. I too, have found a wonderful life partner, and knowing what a wonderful feeling that it is, I wish you all of the very best. I had a wild crush on you from the time that I was ten years old, and at least know I can know that it wasn't entirely in vain! Good Luck & Godspeed!Best Wishes from an ardent admirer- Richard |

Comments: | Even as a growing young teen in the Philippines I had all the admiration for Richard as a very talented and skilled actor. He is one of the few actors that could fit to a tee to any character, be it the hero or the villain, the rich or the poor, classic or western, theater or broadway and many more. Coming into the open just raises that admiration to a higher level. Against all the possibilities of losing stardom, friends and even sometimes family he chosed to be brave and weather the encoming storm. I live in an ambivalent society, assumes a manly role in an administrative work setting, and belongs to a family who is partially agreeable to a gay's lifestyle. Because of these I find it hard to be in the open enduring the torment of living a second person unfamiliar and a stranger to me. How does one develop the courage to be your true self? KUDOS to Richard . . .an inspiration he remains. |

It is something to be scared for that long...I know, having been there for 50 years. The friends and support I experienced after that have been remarkable. There were so many times I wondered if he "was" even when I was in denial of that myself. Life's gonna get a lot better for him...I hope! The courage is sooooo admirable! Comments: | Your website is extremely informative, very tastefully done and you do a great job of hosting! I've enjoyed Richards endeavors from the beginning (he being about 5 or 6 years older than me) and I believe God has truly blessed him with so many wonderful gifts...his diverse acting abilities, his music, his artistic talents and a wonderful, infectious personality, along with a very caring, gentle spirit. He surely has given the world a tremendous amount of enjoyment over the years. I'm very much looking forward to his new book with great anticipation, admiration and respect. I recently read a lengthy dissertation of David Spangler from his and Richards workshop in Duvall, Washington last November, but 2/3 of the text was far above me. I'm hopeful Richard will explain, in more simple terminology, his new way of life today and especially how he finally achieved the peace and happiness he has strived for for so long For many years I, too, have taken on this search which just keeps alluding me. I sometimes wonder if I'll ever find the answers. Do you know if Mr. Spangler and/or Richard will be hosting more workshops in Washington state in the future and if so, where and when? Thankyou again, Darren, for your website It's truly fun to visit and very uplifting!! Am leaving you with my 2 favorite thoughts..."Love me the highest when I deserve it the least because that's when I need it the most." The Power of One Dream...See the invisible, believe the incredible, achieve the impossible. With God, ALL things are possible!! Most Sincerely, Sandy |

It wouldn't be too much to say that my life changed since I met him in the THORN BIRDS at the age of six. I love him and his work so much! I never had the chance to see him perform on stage but I imagine that it would be a shocking experiece. And I can't think of anything that caould make me happier than spending a few minutes with him. I have so much to say, but then again, I'm sure the words wouldn't come out. A plain and simple "thank you" would be all, but as deep and true as my feelings. It's nice to know there are others who share my thoughts. God bless you all RC's fans! Comments: | Could Richard Chamberlain be any more DROP DEAD GORGEOUS! Even at 69,
when most men wouldn't warrant a second look, he could chase me down the
beach ANYTIME! Ever since I understood what it meant to fantasize, he has been it! Love his art, his work (yeah, ok his looks too! Who am I kidding?!) Found your website while trying to find an address to write. Have never written a "fan letter" but his impact as an actor and as a person who does NOT exemplify typical Hollywood is insliring and I would love to add my words to wat I am sure are many others in letting him kknow that. Life is short for all of us-everyone deserves to know the positive impact they have made. I believe that to be true for Mr. Chamberlain as well, even though he is famous and recognizable. Sometimes I suspect that can be lonelier than being just another guy. This is a fabulous website-congrats to you. Of course, I still haven't located an address or signed photograph, but hopefuly that will come. And in the meantime, I have already ordered his book through your website-thank you!! |

I own the video and I saw Richard Chamberlain here in Nashville in 1999, in The Sound of Music. I wish I could have and autographed picture of him. |

Why I am writing you especially today, that is because of his birthday (on March 31st). If you have any contact with, please do wish him all the best, and Many Happy Returns of the Day. Richard has got so much personality, and I know that people that ones saw him playing or heard singing, that they will not forget him. Yours sincerely, Zuk |

Then of course Richard's various films, [amazing performance's]. Sadly, I have not seen him perform live, that really would make my day- here in England!! Comments: | I just finished browsing your new web-site. I hadn't checked in for a few months, following a divorce after 28 years. The site is absolutely beautiful and informative, too. I, like a million other women, have been in love with Richard since Dr. Kildare, though I was quite young when it came out. We had always wondered what happened to him, until all the mini series became his genre of choice. I have seen each and every one of them as often as they are shown and I even bought the Thorn Birds, Part II, though I was bitterly disappointed in it. (Not Mr. Chamberlain's performance, but just about everything else...) I've been to see Richard on stage twice, here in Minnesota, and I was a bit floored by his magnificent singing voice in MY FAIR LADY. I thought he was just wonderful! I treasured every moment of it! But I didn't think I'd be able to accept him as "The Captain" in THE SOUND OF MUSIC, not after watching Christopher Plummer for years, but I certainly did, and with pleasure! He is a most versatile actor and I wish him all the best. I recently saw a clip that he was to appear on BBC/America, on a late night show, but I fell asleep and totally missed it! It makes me doubly glad this site is up and running!! I suppose I've left a long enough message and I apologize for it. I do get carried away when it comes to Mr. Chamberlain. And the very best to you, sir, for a job well done!! Sincerely, Pam Swenson |

Comments: | I have loved Richard Chamberlain since the beginniing of Dr. Kildare. I was totally enraptured by him. I had his albums, pictures all over my room & ceiling, & anything about him I had to obtain. My youth was pretty traumatic, & he just helped me through it all. I never missed a show or movie & tried to follow his work as best as possible. I loved (still do) him so much, not as just a mere fan, but all he represented in my chaotic life. He will always be my ideal man. I always just wanted him to know I existed, that he meant so much to me, and that he never knew of me-- crushes me. I will always respect and love him and his art. |

Comments: | I have always been a huge fan of Richard Chamberlain since the days of "Dr. Kildare" and thank you for creating this website! Since showing old TV is such a big thing now, which I love, do you know of anyway to get "Dr. Kildare" back on TV? That would be too incredible for words! Perhaps I missed it in your "biography" of Richard, but I seem to recall he had a TV show (perhaps in the late 70's? I don't remember exactly when) where he played a doctor in Hawaii. Perhaps short-lived but I don't think you included that. |
