No way could we keep our promise once involved we had to watch the others. Although we had seen Shogun when it first came out in England we had forgotten a lot of it. It is so well written, so honest, and helped me deal with my own child's homosexuality. She came out to me after 27 years of hiding. Richard's book helped me in my quest to love and support. Thank you Richard. I have one whole shelf in my library which holds all Richard's available works. He will always be my favorite actor, and I know why I have always adored him as an actor, because he is also a magnanimous human being. I love his roles as Ralph Touchet, PORTRAIT OF A LADY, and Ralph de Bricassart, THE THORNBIRDS, the most. He is still devastatingly handsome, with the kind of maturity that stuns the senses. I will always love the twinkles and krinkles of his eyes. He has the vision, verve, vitality and versatility it takes to be successful in whatever he attempts. I am so glad we are finally getting to see Martin, and I wish them both love and happiness. I knew over 20 years ago, when I saw them act together in THE THORNBIRDS (Martin was the gorgeous young priest - Father Ralph banished to Darwin after his affair was brought to the attention of the church) that they were destined to be together. It was true; they have shared 27 years of a dynamic destiny. Lucky Martin! Lucky Richard! I look forward to more great works in the future - these two are a dynamic duo and have yet to present their Magnum Opus to the world. Stay tuned....... |

| Comments: | I recently read Mr. Chamberlain's Autobiography. It was very interesting. I grew up on Dr. Kildare and later the Thornbirds. I am a member of the Episcopal Church, but a member of a very conservative church, which is growing in leaps and bounds. Our churches are now polarized by Bishop Robinson becoming a Bishop. I would commend this book to our conservative church priest and their members, who believe that if one wants to change their orientation, the church has a group that will help them do it. It think that much of this orientation is genetic, not just learned, though there is some of thatalso. It is a timely book for people facing these issues to be open or not to be open about their sexual orientation. |
