It was only after purchasing the DVD in 2004, and viewing Richard's amazing performance after 20+ years, that my real interest in the actor took hold. I was curious about the man, as well as his career, but was apprehensive too--I did not want to find out any negative things about him that would change my appreciation for the exceptional work he had done as Father Ralph......I now know there was no need to worry. I have come to discover from my research on the Internet, that Richard Chamberlain is every bit as extraordinary in real life, as the many characters he has portrayed on the screen. His professionalism and warm-hearted nature are universally praised by all who have worked with him, and the innate kindness and charm he radiates has endeared him to a legion of dedicated fans throughout the world........I recently forwarded something to Richard that was given to me by a truly terrific fan of his. I was pleasantly surprised to receive in the mail (in one weeks time, no less!!) a hand written note from him personally thanking me. He allowed me to bring my grandmother down the next evening to meet him.........it was a birthday gift for her. She was in a wheelchair and he knelt before her, she took his face and the look on her face was priceless. She died 2 weeks later. I can never thank him enough for the last, great birthday. I will be forever grateful. I have loved him since Dr. Kildare and became a nurse largely due to his influence. He has impacted my life in many good ways. I just wish I could thank him properly and let him know the impact that he has on lives. |

This past weekend the Hallmark Channel ran it from noon til 10pm. I watched for the entire 10 hours. I Knew Richard Chamberlain when i watch on TV in France about "Shogun", "The Last Wave" and first a all with the mini serie "the thorn birds" because it's like my own history.. I knew too a priest when i was 13 in 1968 and he was my friend and stayed my best friend until he died in march 2003. I felt in love with him but he loved me but neverwe had sex... Because he was a real priest for God ... I have so many letters a few hundred he sent me along these 35 years of our relationshiP... I am married and i have 2 children : Anne-Julie born in 1980 and Rodolphe born in 1983... So i loved the novel "The THorn Birds" and i loved the film ... And i love Richard Chamberlain he playx very well and he was a great acting in Ralph de Bricassart. I di'nt read his book "Shattered Love" but i bought it by amazon...
