Post 50 To Eszti
Post 49 Richard-what else?
When Dr. Kildare first aired, I was 10 years old. And, while I couldn't tell you much about any other show I watched at that age, I remember that one.
Could there be a sexier (or better) acting performance than The Thorn Birds? I doubt it. Thank you Hallmark Channel-now when is TV Land going to wise up and start running Dr. Kildare?! Come on guys, the man can play Hamlet with perfection-what else did Jerry Mathers do? (no offense to the Beav)
Happy (belated) birthday, Richard-what a wonderful way to celebrate your 69th year, having the opportunity to see you on the small screen. But we here in Pittsburgh have never had the opportunity to see you on stage, even though we have a wonderful equity venue in the Pittsburgh Public Theatre. That would be the ultimate -getting you here live! Sure, the weather isn't as good here as in Hawaii, but do you honestly want to go through life never havig tasted a Primanti's sandwich?
In the meantime, I hope each day for you is filled with all that makes you happiest. You are a classy (not to mention gorgeous) gentleman who I have no doubt has gotten better with age. And should I ever have the chance to return to Hawaii, I can think of only one celebrity spotting that would make my day (Tom who??!)
Peace to you and those you love
Fondly,
Bonnie

Post 48 Megint Esztinek / To Eszti again :))

Szia!:-)

Post 46 a NICE TREAT TO SEE RC on THE VIEW 3-31-03
Mr. Chamberlian, I watched you on THE VIEW, on my break, in the teacher's room in school! After another teacher just yelled at me for placing my pizza in the micro wave, I welcomed the sight of you! (LOL-GOTTA LAUGH!). It was funny watching Star Jones'excitement from the sight of you! She wouldn't let you get in a word! Although "Thorn Birds" holds a special place in my heart(my son, Andy, was born 20 years ago and as I was trying to ease the FEAR of childbirth ,I so looked foward to watching the mini series after his arrival), I would have enjoyed hearing your VIEW about the war and your present projects. You must have a gentle soul, and a good heart and kind heart. For those of us who have peace within ourseleves, as well, our aging is timeless. I must admit though, drinking from The Fountain of Youth helps- I have a dose, every ten years. My sincere wishes for your Happy Birthday and thanks for making me smile today! Fondly, Lynn Zahn NJ

Happy birthday, Mr. Chamberlain, and 51 more (Jewish tradition has us allotted 120), each full of as much (or as little! it can sometimes be a headache!) fame, fortune, happiness, recognition, and (as usual for you) hard work as you want it to be. Relax. Enjoy yourself. You've paid your dues, even if the @#)$(*^89&% blockheads in Tinseltown don't all (or pretend not to) know it. One of millions of sincere fans worldwide, Hedy Weiss, Toronto. (To those who were wondering: Confirm with both Entertainment Tonight and astrologer Richard Nolle that Mr. Chamberlain was indeed born in 1934 and not 1935. By the way, his Jewish birthday is just before sunset on the first day of Passover 5694.)

Post 40 Kedves Kata!
Én is elfelejtettem valamit.:-) A másságról... Remélhetőleg a könyvéből kiderül!:-) Ha megtudsz vmit a könyvéről, szólj! Szia! Várom válaszod!

Post 39 Szia!
Szia Kata! Most találtam meg a válaszodat. Happy birthday to you Mr. Chamberlain, and God bless you!

Szia Katalin! Láttad a Tövismadarak folytatását, a "Hiányzó éveket"? Neked sem tetszett? Várom válaszod! Szia!:-)

RE Szia!

Kata

Richards movie "Petulia" was shown here in Sweden (jippey!) some time ago, and I taped it of course, I can really recommend this movie, Richard has the part of an abusive husband to Julie Christie, and despite the mean part (which he does very well and convincing) I got so fascinated by his good looks! He looks drop dead gorgeous in this movie! It was really fun to see a movie from the sixties with him (-68), and see him so young!:) Marie

Sorry that I do not have enough place/time - and even vocabulary too - to tell anyhow, what I feel about the story, about the persons in the movie - but I have to say: I mean, dear Richard, You are the most sensitive person (as the actor and as the man too) in the world. RE: Julius caesar
The Producer is the essential overseer in the process of making a movie and bringing it to fruition. S/he is responsible for obtaining the rights to the story that is going to be depicted and the complete responsibilities are not over even after the film is in the can. Ideally the producer will be a person with good business skills, have a command of authority and respect, and have the ability to work with a number of different personality types, and s/he will demonstrate fiduciary aptitude.

Even so I loved the mini series well worth the awards they recieved. next quesrion: What is a film producer and what does a film producer do what are his responsibility does the producer have a say in who stars in the movie, does the producer put money into a project? Does he also have a say in how a film is edited? I know Richard is also a film producer I'm not what a producers duties are. Thanks Theresa

RE: Island Son
"Island Son" is not available on either Video or DVD. The only way to get copies is to find someone that recorded them when they aired on TV.

Post 16 Donations to Richard Chamberlain Online
Darren have you considered accepting donations from visitors to your website to help with the maintenance costs? I have seen other websites asking for donations to help them stay online. Our company website only contains a few pages and that costs a lot of money to maintain each year. Perhaps people could donate in honor of Richard and your wonderful website?

Post 15 Catch me if you can/Mr Lucky
Hi Darren and all RC fans firstly let me say that sounds like a great idea the previous post said about RC's Birthday instead of sending gifts directly to RC our gifts will be remembered in a tree and it will grow for years to come. That would a lasting memorial to our favourite actor.
I went to see Catch me if you can and I loved seeing the small clip of Dr KIldare and the scene afterwards was quite funny. I really enjoyed the movie if you havent seen the movie yet you really should. I think I may have read somewhere on the internet that Richard starred in Mr Lucky is this true? with the music from Henry Mancini.

Yes, Richard starred in an episode of "Mr. Lucky." Screenshots are in the Filmography section on my website. You can also purchase the Mr. Lucky video from Amazon.com.

Post 13 Richard's Birthday
As many of you are aware, Richard Chamberlain is very concerned about our environment and has worked tirelessly in its behalf. He is a lifetime member of an environmental group in Hawaii. With his birthday approaching, many of you wish to express your appreciation to Mr. Chamberlain by sending him cards and gifts. The fans at CHAMBERLAINFANS@YAHOOGROUPS.COM have come up with a rather unique way of honoring and celebrating Richard's birthday ... by making a donation in his name to this environmental group.
You can send your donation directly to THE OUTDOOR CIRCLE at the following address. In order to make the most of your donation, please send the donation in US FUNDS ONLY so that THE OUTDOOR CIRCLE does not have to pay conversion or transaction fees. The donation will be added to their tree planting fund.
THE OUTDOOR CIRCLE
1314 South King Street
Suite 306
Honolulu, HI 96814
USA
Be sure to indicate that your donation is in celebration and honor of Richard Chamberlain's birthday.
The Outdoor Circle is NOT a contact address for Richard Chamberlain so we would ask that you do not attempt to contact him through this organization.

Has there been any news re: "The Final Verdict"? Has production begun? Is the cast set as yet? Will RC definitely appear? An update would be greatly appreciated.

Post 11 The Music Lovers
Hi Darren and RC admirers from around the world. I have a question I think I remember reading in an article but I cant remember how it went but I think it said toward the end of the making of The Music Lovers Richard was so phsically exhausted and mentally exhausted that Richard had actually considered giving up showbuisness forever. Which I am sure we are all glad RC had changed his mind. Thank you Darren for replying to message your information was very helpful.

Post 09 Richard's birthday
I have two biographies of Richard which list his birthday as March 31, 1935. But I've found four web sites that list it as March 31, 1934. Does anyone know what the real birthdate is? I suspect it's 1935 as the bios say, since it gives him a Moon in Pisces which fits his temperament.

RE: Richard's birthday
Richard was born on 31 March 1934, despite what is stated in other sources.

Post 05 Message Board Good Idea
Darren it is a shame you had to put up a new board. Too many people do not understand that there is a time and place for everything and force their own interests onto others. This board is a good idea and very easy to read. My best wishes for the growth of your site. It is always a pleasure to visit and read about Richard. And I enjoy your photo galleries! Bonnie

Post 04 Nice idea Darren
This is a nice idea to resolve some problems, Darren.I do hope that those obnoxious messages did not cause too much trauma to you. But you'll have much more work checking all the messages. I hope there'll be a "balanced" and "democratic" "censorship" aplied to the messages. The thing I hate the most is to be cut off in my freedom of speech only because I refuse to be like others want me to be. In some groups you have to think black&white like everybody else. But, regarding to what has happened lately in your m-board, I understand that the name Richard Chamberlain just doesn't match with some crazy messages, and things need to be filtered.
I hope that your board will keep a place where people can go beyond technical RC information, and are allowed to do what others find so complicated - To Think & To Speek Freely
Best whishes to your new m-board
Amelia

Post 01 The Thorn Birds 20th anniversary
Hi did you this the 20th anniversary year since the Thorn Birds has been shown on TV. What I thinking was we should get single fan to lobby Warner Bros to bring a special video version or DVD with extras like mini documentaries about how The Thorn Birds interviews with the stars original tv advertvert for The Thorn Birds and lots more. What do you guys think maybe Warner Bros will listen to us and maybe by Christmas this (or sooner) release The Thorn BIrds to the shops. Thanks Theresa

RE: The Thorn Birds 20th anniversary
The best advice I can offer is to register your interest on the Amazon website at this page because the studio is more likely to take notice of a big company rather than a group of individuals.
